Consequences of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)


• When 75 - 80% of renal function is lost, every organ system is affected
• End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is irreversible kidney disease
     • < 10 -15% of renal function remaining
• Patient must receive dialysis or transplant, or they will die!
